Student Transportation
Riding the WexExpress is an easy, affordable, and sustainable way to get to and from your classes or after-school activities. WexExpress serves all educational campuses in Wexford County and provides regional commuter routes to Traverse City and Tustin. See below for more detailed information about setting up your rides with WexExpress.
College Transportation
We offer transportation anywhere within Wexford County, getting you to and from Baker College in Cadillac. For those attending Northwestern Michigan College in Traverse City, we provide regional routes that arrive at the Grand Traverse Mall every weekday at 8:00 am, 11:30 am, and 4:00 pm. For travel arrangements, please call or text our dispatch office at (231) 779-0123.
WexExpress also provides transportation for residents living in Lake Township (Missaukee County).
K-12 Transportation
WexExpress offers transportation to/from any K-12 school in Wexford County. We have been offering transportation services for years for those who need transportation due to school of choice, for those who participate in after-school programs including tutoring or sports, or need a ride outside of the boundaries that the school can provide.
Safety and Training
Our drivers are well trained and must undergo a national background check. Our vehicles are maintained and serviced to State of Michigan requirements, and all vehicles are outfitted with security cameras.
Fares & Passes
Fare and pass information can be found on our Fares & Passes page on this site. Fare cost is typically $1 for students who live and go to school in town. $1.50 for students outside of town. Passes are available to reduce the cost by 25%. Passes can be purchased from drivers, or by contacting our dispatch office.
How to Schedule Transportation
Transportation may be arranged by contacting our dispatch office at (231) 779-0123. Our representatives will ask you questions to get your student's account set up, along with getting emergency contact information.
To save time, you are welcome to fill out our online form to register your student and set up their initial rides. We will reply to you when we receive your form, and will follow up 1-2 days before transportation begins to give you boarding times.
